Iran commander calls US military in Gulf a target not a threat

On Wednesday, president Hassan Rouhani said Iran would no longer implement parts of the deal and threatened to go further if the remaining members of the pact, including the European Union, failed to deliver sanctions relief to counterbalance Trump's renewed assault on the Iranian economy within 60 days.

As a result of the USA tightening its sanctions, President Rouhani warned that Iran may face tougher conditions than those during the 1980s war with Iraq.

Iran is facing "unprecedented pressure" from worldwide sanctions and the country could be under worse economic conditions than during the 1980-88 war with Iraq, said President Hassan Rouhani on Sunday.
