Grizzlies acquire Justin Holiday from Bulls in trade

The Memphis Grizzlies have acquired Chicago Bulls guard Justin Holiday for two players and two future second-round draft picks, the teams announced Thursday night.

Memphis brass has finally shipped out Marshon Brooks and Wayne Selden to Chicago.

This season with Chicago, Holiday has started in every game in which he's appeared.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer: It was a good first touch from sub Lukaku!
In the night's other entertaining match, West Ham and Brighton shared four goals in 12 second-half minutes in their 2-2 draw. Manchester United's resurgence under Ole Gunnar Solskjær continues.

Memphis had been using Brooks and Selden as reserves, and they're averaging 6.6 and 5.4 points per game, respectively.

Selden, 24, is averaging 5.4 points in 14.2 minutes across 32 games.

In addition to playing in Belgium and Hungary, Justin Holiday has spent 6 seasons in the National Basketball Association, producing career totals 7.9 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists a game for Philadelphia, Golden State, Atlanta, New York and Chicago - winning an National Basketball Association title with Golden State in 2015.

China Warns Taiwan: Unification By Force Is On The Table
Since losing its civil war, Taiwan has occupied a dubious place internationally, with mainland China encouraging other countries not to recognize it.

The Chicago Tribune reported in the wake of the deal that the Bulls still have small forward Jabari Parker and center Robin Lopez on the trade market. He's shooting 35.9 percent from 3-point range with a career-high 7.1 attempts per game. At a listed 6-foot-6 and 181 pounds, Holiday isn't quite big enough to deal with the Kevin Durants of the world, meaning Anderson will still have to handle those assignments, but Bickerstaff will no longer have any defensive liabilities in his wing rotation. The Bulls will hold two second-round picks in 2020.

Chicago waived Cameron Payne to clear a roster spot. He played a few games for the New Orleans Pelicans in 2016-17 on a 10-day contract, and was then signed by the Grizzlies for the remainder of 2016-17, lasting through this season.

According to Shams Charania, the Bulls neither plan on having Brooks report to the team or to waive him.
