Late in the 4th quarter of a 38-27 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, 49ers franchise quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo suffered a torn ACL in his left knee, ending his first full National Football League season in San Francisco.

Garoppolo will miss the remainder of the 2018 season.

The San Francisco 49ers announced today that starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has a torn ACL.

Samsung launches Galaxy J6 Plus, J4 Plus
The South Korean technology company is offering new watch in three variants - Silver, Midnight Black and Rose Gold. Either way, 5G is widely expected to be one of the features that Samsung's Galaxy S10 will be equipped with.

The injury deals a serious blow to the 49ers (1-2), who had planned their rebuild around Garoppolo and now must turn again to C.J. Beathard at quarterback.

The 49ers will have to wait another year to earn dividends on that investment. The team now sits at 1-2 after a 38-27 loss to the Chiefs.

The 49ers quarterback had to be carted off the field Sunday after his knee appeared to buckle before a vicious hit in a game in which Kansas City was leading 38-27 in the fourth quarter. Head coach Kyle Shanahan will speak to the media at 4:00.

Garoppolo had gone 20-of-30 for 251 yards for two touchdown and no interceptions before leaving the game. As a rookie in 2017, Beathard started in five games, appearing in seven, and totaled four touchdowns and six interceptions.

While NFL players regularly return to perform at a high level after ACL injuries, Garoppolo is protected even if he never takes another snap. "It really helps having gone through it and having that experience. This time around it'll be a little easier".
