Even though Wentz was leading the National Football League in touchdown passes at the time, he tore his ACL in December, and Foles took over from that point to lead the Eagles to their first-ever Super Bowl championship, even outdueling the great Tom Brady in the Super Bowl in Minneapolis.

NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reported on Saturday that the Eagles were planning on starting Nick Foles against the Falcons on Thursday night. Carson Wentz (ACL, LCL) has done fantastic in rehab.

Former President Bill Clinton was also on hand and sat in the front row with Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan. All kinds of musicians were at the Greater Grace Temple to pay tribute to a legend and the raw power of her music.

"Therefore, I'm not going to discuss it", Pederson asserted. Since Wentz hadn't officially been cleared for contact heading into the weekend, it seemed like only a matter of time before it was announced that Foles would begin the year as the starter, bringing a whole new level of pressure to the table.

Coach Doug Pederson said earlier this week that he would make up his mind today about Thursday's starter but didn't plan to make it public until the day of the game.

It's now unclear if Apple will save this announcement for later in the year or reveal all alongside its new range of phones. But now the wait is over as Apple has officially sent out the invites for its most important event of the year.

That would seem to all but guarantee that Foles will get the start, unless his shaky preseason has suddenly put third-stringer Nate Sudfeld in the running. If Foles can win them a Super Bowl, he can hold down the fort for a game or two in September. He had been splitting first-team reps with Foles, but will move back into a supporting role for at least this week.

Wentz had a chance to become the NFL MVP before his injury. It's expected that whenever he returns to full health, he will start and Foles will go back to being the backup. He also took six sacks, including one for a safety during a dismal outing in the Eagles' third preseason game, when his team lost to the Browns, 5-0, and left Pederson reportedly describing Foles's performance as "very disappointing". "What's a few games over 12 to 15 years?"

He appeared to be referring to the Nairobi-Mombasa Expressway project that would link Kenya's capital with its major Indian Ocean port.

In the short term, though, Pederson is clearly getting frustrated with the constant questions about his quarterback situation.
