Jose Mourinho and Paul Pogba had different takes on Manchester United's penalty debate on Friday night.

Jose Mourinho appointed World Cup victor Paul Pogba as his captain for his sides' Premier League opener against Leicester City.

Sources have told ESPN FC that Barcelona and Juventus are both interested in signing the midfielder after Mourinho claimed the £89 million man had played well for France during the World Cup because he was fully focused on his football.

He added: "I had my plans for many months and I find myself in the beginning of the Premier League, with the market closed, I find myself in a situation which I did not think I was going to be in".

"We should start the Premier League with a win and we did".

"I think he's been telling people he's done a fabulous job finishing second".

United still got the win despite probably only being at 70%, and everyone who was involved is going to be fitter next time.

Pogba scored the first league goal of the season from the spot after only three minutes following an inexplicable handball by Daniel Amartey inside the Foxes' box.

"The team played as a team", Mourinho said. A lot of coaches forget that player development is part of the job description, but not Mou.
