"Will be going to OH tonight to campaign for Troy Balderson for the big Congressional Special Election on Tuesday", the president tweeted. "It's really kind of shocking because this should be just a slam dunk and it's not".

National Republican groups have spent $3.5 million, far more than Democrats, on TV ads that attempt to link O'Connor with Nancy Pelosi, though the moderate Democrat has said he won't back her for party leader.

John Kasich (R) said Sunday that Republican congressional candidate Troy Balderson had claimed he didn't have anything to do with inviting President Donald Trump to campaign on his behalf.

"So we're blowing them away, and that's good because those are the people that love us", he added.

Trump called Balderson "the guy who will do things" and dismissed Balderson's Democratic opponent, Franklin County recorder Danny O'Connor, as a person nobody knows.

"I asked him the other day, 'Why are you bringing Trump in, ' said Kasich, who has been one of the GOP's harshest critics of the president. I am better everything than they have, including this", Trump said, pointing at his own head.

The tweet Friday came in response to an interview James conducted with CNN host Don Lemon, a frequent punching bag for the president. Pat Tiberi is shockingly close - and that "doesn't bode well for the Republican party".
