Schumer chides Trump for heated rhetoric on Iran

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer says President Donald Trump's tweet on Iran is a sign he is desperate to distract Americans from last week's summit meeting with Russia's Vladimir Putin.

However, Trump announced the US' withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) or the Iran nuclear deal in May, which limited the country's uranium enrichment in exchange for sanctions relief.

Democrats have expressed alarm about Trump's Iran bluster.

A senior commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guard was quoted in Iranian media saying "Iran will resist pressure from the enemies" and that Trump's threats against the country amounted to "psychological warfare", Reuters reported.

The politician added that the United States has not only withdrawn from Iran nuclear deal rather they are leaving other fundamental rights organizations and they are also withdrawing from everything wherever there is a vote against murder, mass slaughter and genocide of the Palestinian nation.

But Ghaemi, speaking via Skype, said the Trump administration's other policies hurt average Iranians.

"Sadly, after pulling us out of the nuclear deal with Europe and Iran, there doesn't seem to be strategy for how to move forward to fight Iran's activities", she said.
