Trump invites Putin to United States amid criticism over Helsinki meet

There was further confusion after the White House said Mr Trump "disagrees" with Mr Putin's offer to allow U.S. questioning of 12 Russians accused of election meddling in exchange for Russian interviews with the former United States ambassador to Russia and other Americans the Kremlin has linked to unspecified crimes.

Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats appeared to be shocked on Thursday when he learned Putin was being invited by the Trump administration to the nation's capital after spending much of the week reiterating warnings about Russia's dubious intentions regarding the United States electoral process. He said they discussed counterterrorism, Israel's security, nuclear proliferation, cyber attacks, trade, Ukraine, Middle East peace and North Korea.

Trump has called the summit "a great success", but he has been vague about what he discussed with Putin.

Following the two leaders' summit in Helsinki, Finland, the White House announced it had invited Putin to visit for a second meeting in the fall, which has brought on additional criticism.

"I think that Trump derangement syndrome is a real thing". Dan Sullivan said "I wouldn't do it, that's for damn sure".

The US intelligence community, which concluded Russian Federation interfered in the 2016 US presidential election under Putin's guidance, has warned the Kremlin is also planning attacks on future US elections - including the midterms.

But he missed out on a deal with United unwilling to meet the asking price Inter Milan had slapped on the Croatia global . Jose Mourinho is targeting a double swoop for Croatia duo Ivan Perisic and Ante Rebic, according to reports.

And that comes as cleanup from the first meeting in Helsinki has continued with no letup.

Under mounting pressure, the White House later rejected Putin's request.

Exactly what Mr. Trump and Putin discussed, and what agreement or agreements they reached, has been the topic of much discussion and confusion.

Mr Trump had initially described the idea as an "incredible offer".

"This issue (of a referendum) was discussed", he said, adding without elaborating that Putin made "concrete proposals" to Trump on solutions for the four-year Ukraine conflict, which has killed more than 10,000 people.

Anatoly Antonov spoke on July 20, a day after Bloomberg quoted sources as saying that Putin told Russian diplomats he had proposed to Trump that a referendum be held in the region, where Russia-backed separatists hold parts of two provinces.

Roy Moore says he’s among political figures duped by Sacha Baron Cohen
Cohen "is the premier provocateur of our time but not for the sake of "gotcha" moments", Showtime CEO David Nevins said. Then she pointed out the very obvious: It's a parody Twitter account! That's when the conversation took an absurd turn.

President Donald Trump has invited the Russian leader Vladimir Putin to the White House this fall for a second get-together.

Sanders made the statement just as the US Senate took up a resolution objecting to any move by the Trump administration to make US officials available for questioning by Russian government officials.

White House officials have not explained why Coats was not informed about the invitation in advance.

It restated the US intelligence community's assessment that Moscow did extensively interfere, and continues to interfere.

With the fallout from the Putin meeting matching or eclipsing previous controversies in Trump's turbulent 18-month presidency, critics of his performance in Helsinki included many fellow Republicans.
