Twitter was flooded with reactions following France's victory.

Croatia did not fare too much better in the ratings as goalkeeper Subasic got a three, Vida and Rebic both picked up fours and four players including Mario Mandzukic got fives.

Deschamps then tried to compose himself to give his view on France's second World Cup triumph - he was the captain of the team that won the trophy in 1998 by beating Brazil 3-0 in Paris.
