Warriors add a 5th All-Star in center DeMarcus Cousins

The Golden State Warriors have put themselves squarely in the conversation as one of the greatest teams of all-time. How about giving the reigning National Basketball Association champion Golden State Warriors a call, despite the fact that they already had four All-Stars, to see if they were interested?

Cousins is one of the best frontcourt players in the league, and he's going to be only the 7th highest paid player on the Warriors next season.

Free agent big man DeMarcus Cousins stunned the National Basketball Association world on Monday night when he agreed to a one-year, $5.3 million deal with the world-champion Golden State Warriors, bolstering the historically talented lineup with yet another All-Star.

But prior to this stunning free agency move, the new season was gearing up to be one of the most competitive and unpredictable for a long time.

End of an era: Toys 'R' Us stores close for good
In 1965, Geoffrey the giraffe became the company's mascot, appearing in his first TV commercial in 1973. The nationwide shutdown of Toys "R" Us has left a $11 billion market void.

The answer is, probably not, for a variety of reasons, and not just limited to his torn Achilles tendon, which could keep Cousins sidelined until January.

On Monday, he called Warriors general manager Bob Myers to express an interest in joining the team. It's unclear when Cousins will return, if he'll return at all this season. That means coach Steve Kerr either will have to rely more on his core of existing All-Stars-Curry, Kevin Durant, Green and Klay Thompson-or hope to get more from two young players who were up-and-down last season, forward Jordan Bell and point guard Quinn Cook. Sports book BetmyBookie wildly overreacted to LeBron James agreeing to a deal with the Los Angeles Lakers and briefly made the Lakers the favorites to win the title early Monday. Golden State's Andre Iguodala was equally excited, tweeting, "Big fella!" One of the best players in the league.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges and is now being held without bail, the New York Times reports. The teen manages to hobble back into the store looking for help, however, surveillance video shows.

Could Cousins make the Warriors even more formidable in the postseason and lead to a third consecutive title and the fourth in five years? Cousins averaged 25 points, 13 rebounds and over five assists per game at the time of his injury while also shooting 35 percent from beyond the three-point line.
