Durant's decision is a win on multiple levels for the two-time defending National Basketball Association champion Warriors.

Kevin Durant intends to sign a 2-year deal with the Golden State Warriors. But, he told ESPN during the NBA Finals he planned on re-signing with the Warriors. Since a one-year contract not counting option years requires Non-Bird rights, Durant was only entitled to a 20-percent raise. However, he said all along that he had no intention of signing elsewhere.

Durant's roughly $30 million salary for next season will make him the second-highest-paid Warrior behind Stephen Curry ($37.5 million). If Durant declines the option, he could re-sign next summer for as much as $219 million over five years, as NBC Sports Bay Area Warriors Insider Monte Poole pointed out earlier this week. The exact terms of his contract aren't now public, but Yahoo Sports is reporting Kerr will at least double the $5 million per year that he was making before.

Three of the NBA's biggest stars are off the market. That gives Durant a chance to get a new deal with the Warriors, and there's little doubt that Durant is leaving Oakland.
